The two-time Master Breeder winning Ferme Rubis herd of Charles Ménard and Manon Prud’homme was dispersed on September 25th at their Lochaber-Partie-Ouest, Quebec, farm with 85 head plus embryos selling for a solid average of $4377 (unofficial). The sale was managed by Encans Boulet Inc.

Commanding the $13,400 top price of the sale was Snowbiz Jabir Leta (Ex-92), a 4-year-old Coyne-Farms Jabir-ET (VG) daughter from the Comestar Laurie Sheik ET family, who was claimed by Gilles and Julien Courchesne of Ferme Du Petit Chene, Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola, Que. A ninth generation Very Good or Excellent, she was projected to 13,430 kg milk, 4.7% fat, 3.4% protein (266-339-284) in her current lactation and is due again in February to “Summerday”. Leta is from a Very Good-86-2y, 5-Star “Snowman” dam with records to 16,669 kg milk, 4.2% fat, 3.1% protein (361-399-342).

Second high seller at $9500 was the milking yearling, Rubis Doorman Lore (VG-86-1yr), who was purchased by Ferme Ralston, Compton, Que. Fresh since July, this “Doorman” daughter completes six generations of Very Good or Excellent in the Laurie Sheik family. She is from an Excellent-91-3E Hendel Bigstone-ET (VG-SP) sired dam with 17,534 kg milk, 4.2% fat, 3.4% protein (314-350-327) at 4 years.
