The respected Marbro Farms Holstein and Jersey herd of brothers Ross and Gord Marshall and Gord’s sons was completely dispersed before a a really good crowd on September 29th at their Woodstock, Ont., farmstead. This longtime Oxford County herd has won Holstein Canada Master Breeder Shields in 1992 and 2008 and a Jersey Canada Constructive Breeder Award in 2017.

The 2nd top seller at $4600, and bringing the best Holstein price, was Marbro Brady Jaelyn (VG-88), a 3-year-old “Brady” backed by four Excellent dams in the herd’s Jessie family who was purchased by Gordon Moore, Waterford, Ont. Fresh again since July, Jaelyn had made 11,921 kg milk, 386 kg fat, 358 kg protein (255-218-237) in her first lactation. She is from an Excellent-91-5E “Dundee” dam. The next dams in this deep pedigree are an Excellent-92-5E, 6-Star “Aeroline” with 97,695 kg milk lifetime, an Excellent-4E, 3-Star “Raider” with 96,041 kg milk lifetime and then an Excellent-3E, 6-Star “Jetstar” with 89,556 kg milk lifetime.
